Laugh for REAL
1 Timothy 1:5 But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.
Yesterday morning, my little boy was telling me the silliest jokes. Honestly, they made no sense whatsoever lol, but he was sure getting a kick out of himself. I tried to laugh, but he kept telling me, "Laugh for real! Not that laugh mom...do the other one." He then proceeded to mimic my "sincere" laugh...which if that is accurate...I need some serious help.
My "take away" from this experience was that even a toddler can recognize sincerity. He could tell whether I was being fake or sincere... and to think... sometimes we try to fool God Who knows us better than we know ourselves!
My challenge to you today is to do as today's verse encourages... be sincere in your faith. It's okay to let those around you (including God) know how you feel. Of course, always speak in love but speak up.
If your faith is being challenged, go to God and prayer and tell Him. Talk it out with Him. He already knows... So, just be honest with Him. If you're facing medical challenges and your faith is low, you don't have to put on a façade for everyone around you. Find someone who shares your faith and loves you, and honestly, tell them your challenges. That way, they can pray for you and encourage you.
Be sincere.
Dear Lord, I thank You that even in times when my faith is low, I can be honest with You. Your word says that I just need mustard seed size faith to move mountains. You can take my little and grow it into something magnificent. Help me Lord.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Have I bottled up my emotions and pain? Is there someone I can share my heart with for encouragement?
