Love Endures
1 Corinthians 13:7 Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
My husband and I are celebrating our wedding anniversary today - almost 40 years together. It is hard to believe that we have been married that long ... that we still enjoy spending time with each other - LOL!
To say that we have lived in a state of sweet bliss since our wedding day would be an exaggeration. In all honesty, we have had our rough patches ... times we both questioned whether or not this union would survive.
Today's scripture provides the key to our success. Throughout the good times as well as the rough ones, we never gave up on our love. Our hope that things would get better helped us to endure all that could have torn us apart. If we would not have trusted that God had a reason for putting us together, we would have missed out on our glorious times.
My challenge to you today is to cherish every moment that He gives you with your loved ones. Elizabeth Barrett Browning once wrote that "Whoever loves believes in miracles." When you love someone no matter how bad things have progressed, always remain hopeful that your miracle is right around the corner! Love never gives up ... true love endures!!!!
Dear Lord, I thank You for loving me with an enduring love. Help me to love those that You have placed in my life in the same way.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Is there a relationship in your life that you have given up on? What could you do to salvage it?
