Praying Toys???
Proverbs 22:6. Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.
On his way to school, my three-year old grandson announced to his dad that he was going to have Woody and Buzz Lightyear pray for GG's arm. He then proceeded to lead his Toy Story characters in prayer for me.
When my son-in-law shared what had occurred on their way to school, I was so very touched that my grandson would voluntarily pray for me AND ask his friends (toys) to join in. I then realized that my grandson's action was a direct result of being taught to pray by his parents.
Today's verse reminds us of the importance for parents to take the time to train their children in the way they should go. Although children may sadly stray from the instruction of their parents at some point in their lives, this verse offers hope that they will eventually come around.
My challenge to you today is to make every effort to teach the young people in your life right and wrong AND that there will be consequences for doing wrong. By doing so, these young individuals will have a strong foundation to draw from when raising their own children. They will emulate your actions .... just as my grandson did with Woody and Buzz!!!
Dear Lord, Thank you for the young people in my life. Help me to never neglect my responsibilities to teach them your ways.
I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
