God Even Cares About Your Dog

Matthew 10:29-31 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care...

Recently, a friend of mine lost his dog named Buddy. He has had Buddy for 7 years. So, naturally, this was tragic for my friend. On top of that, my friend cannot drive right now due to a motorcycle accident that he was in two months ago.

After searching with no avail for Buddy, he prayed that if it would be The Lord's will, Buddy would return. He placed his "best friend" in the hands of God. The very next morning, he was thrilled to find out that the dog had been found and was at a local animal shelter.

He called and asked if I could bring him to pick up Buddy. When he walked into the kennel area, he heard Buddy bark and began to shout, "Buddy, Buddy!" It was such an emotional moment even for me as I watched them reunite.

Not having been there, maybe this story seems insignificant (unless you're a dog lover). However, did you know that God cares about what we care about? He even cares about the things that may seem insignificant. Today's verse says that He even cares for the sparrow, a bird worth less than a penny.

I challenge you today to always approach God's throne with boldness. Ask Him for what you need. Know that you can ask Him anything. God is not "bothered" by your requests. He loves you and desires to give you the desires of your heart when they are aligned with His will.

Dear Lord, Thank You that You care about me and love me enough to meet my every need.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Are there prayer requests that I have held back from The Lord?
