Expressions of His Love
1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and His love is brought to full expression in us.
My daughter's new house is only a few weeks away from being completed. Along with the excitement I am feeling for my daughter and her family is the sad realization that my granddaughters will be moving out after a year of living with us ... that I will not be hearing "GG, I love you" multiple times each day. Annabelle, our sweet four-year old, particularly loves making this declaration.
I am not certain if Annabelle's frequent "I Love You" declarations are a result of her understanding that she will be moving out soon OR if she is fulfilling what God has commissioned us to do in today's verse - to be expressions of His love.
Since I know how wonderful it is to be continually told that I am loved, my challenge to you today is to frequently declare your love to others through your words and actions. We often do a great job with this on special days such as Valentine's Day or Wedding Anniversaries, but fall short during the remainder of the year. Don't wait ... tell your loved ones today how much you love them!
Dear Lord, Thank You for loving us so. Help us to become expressions of Your love in the lives of those we encounter.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
