No Pre-Approval

John 3:16 For God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

I recently tripped and injured my left arm. Through this experience, I have learned a lot about myself. I now know that I have a difficult time accepting offers of assistance to complete everyday tasks.  On the other hand, I have developed a greater appreciation for Jesus' offer of eternal life.

Today's scripture assures us that our gift of salvation is made available through our belief in Jesus Christ. There is no pre-approval process - no calls made to Jesus to determine if we are eligible for the awesome benefit of eternal life with Him.

Sadly, my experience with my health insurance company has been totally different. Although I am FULLY covered, paid in full, my doctor's office still has to obtain pre-approval from my insurance company to proceed with further testing.... hence, I am still waiting for word on my eligibility - unsure of my next treatment steps.

My challenge to you today is to never take for granted the free gift of salvation from Our Savior who is always ready to forgive, offer mercy, and bestow eternal life. A Savior who will never make those who believe in Him wait and wonder if they are pre-approved ... if they are eligible for all that awaits them in their eternal home!

Dear Lord, I thank You for being an approachable God ... for always being there for me when I need You.

I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: Have you told someone lately about the free gift that God has for all who believe in Him?
