Still Going Strong
1 Corinthians 2:9 No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.
This past weekend, my husband and I had the opportunity to visit his grandfather, Reverend Marvin Gorman, in the hospital. We had a wonderful visit. Of course, we brought my little boy along, which brought great excitement to that tiny hospital room.
During our visit, "Papa," looked at my husband and said, "Did you see what I'm reading? I really enjoy this author." He then pointed to a book on top of his Bible. The title was "The Acts of the Apostles."
Papa is an 80-year-old man. He pastored a church of more than 6,000, planted churches and Bible colleges abroad, and has seen mind-blowing miracles through his ministry....AND he's still reading, still praying, still pushing for God to move in his life.
The average mind would think that someone as educated in the Word...as accomplished in ministry...probably doesn't need to read yet another book on ministry. However, Papa believes (and we agree) that his best days are yet to come. Do you know what? It's that hunger for God's Word and presence that has caused Papa to be used in such a miraculous way.
I challenge you today. Never stop pursuing God's presence. You may have read the Bible 100 times in your lifetime. However, each time you read God's Word, He will always have a new revelation for you. It might even be "that new revelation" which unlocks your best days in Him!
Dear Lord, Thank You that the BEST is yet to come in my life!
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Have I limited the power of God in my life by limiting the time I spend with Him?
