Sparkling White
Isaiah 1:18 "Come now, and let us reason together," says the LORD, "Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow."
School closures .... Non-essential business closures due to icy and possible snowy conditions. It is hard to believe that reports such as these are being announced on the local news programs in South Louisiana!
As I was listening to the weather reports, I began to reflect on what God is promising us in today's scripture. Just as a thick blanket of snow has the ability to transform any terrain or neighborhood into a picture perfect book scene, God is offering to do the same in our lives. He is encouraging us to go to Him to reason together (to talk about) our sins. He then offers to make them as pure and as white as freshly fallen snow.
Sadly, many individuals have a hard time accepting this offer because of their guilt ... because of their feelings of not being worthy of such purity. They push aside God's amazing offer of forgiveness and live a life full of regret and shame.
My challenge to you is to always realize that NO sin is too big for God to forgive. You just need to accept His gracious gift to become SPARKLING WHITE despite anything you have done.
Dear Lord, I thank You for Your offer to wash me as white as snow. Keep me from holding on to my regrets, my shame. Draw me to Your amazing offer of forgiveness.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Is there something in your life that you need to let go of ... an area that You need to have a heart to heart talk with God?
