Deadly Duels
Proverbs 14:30 A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones.
Last week, my husband received a very disturbing photo. He was sent a picture of two dead red stag (deer) who had locked horns over a dispute and had died because they could not separate. Their conflict resulted in their death.
As I viewed this photo, I began to reflect on the ending of today's verse. The envy that led to one of the red stag to attack the other had devastating consequences - the tragic end of their lives. Sadly, we too encounter situations in our lives that have the potential to consume us to the point of destroying our lives.
My encouragement to you today is to make every effort to resolve any dispute that is festering in your life. Isaiah 43:2 promises God's help in even the most difficult situations we face - "When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you." Always know that we can be at peace in our troubles BECAUSE we have a Savior Who is ABLE to rescue us!
Dear Lord, I thank You for always being there for me. Help me to always remain at peace with those in my life.
I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Is there a situation in your life that needs resolution in order to restore peace in your life? |
