The Right Direction
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Imagine for a moment, a child playing Pee Wee football. He makes his first amazing catch. Surprised that the ball actually landed in his hands, he proudly takes off running with all of his might. With barely any opposition, he keeps running...and running until he makes it to the end zone.
He jumps up and down for joy, slams the football on the ground (like he has seen on television), and does his own little happy dance.
He knows that his dad will be proud. With great excitement, he searches his dad out in the crowd and gives him a big thumbs-up. Dad, with a nervous smile, returns the thumbs-up and thinks, "If only he had run to the RIGHT end zone" - lol.
Today's verse encourages us to seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness FIRST... and THEN everything else will be added.
In our busyness, we often run in many directions...chasing after many things, but I challenge you today to always chase after the things of God. One day, we will all have to give account for our every word and deed while here on earth. Make it count... Run in His direction always!
Dear Lord, Show me the great plans that You have for my life. Help me to always run in Your direction, the right direction.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Reflection: Evaluate the areas of your life that consume most of your time and determine whether Jesus is at the center of those efforts.
