Nothing Left to "Chance"

1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

My son and I recently played our first game of Candy Land together. I spun the wheel, and then color by color advanced to the next spot. Maddox, on the other hand, had an entirely different approach.

Rather than just leaving his life to chance, he turned that colorful wheel exactly to the spot he wanted. Then, quickly, he advanced to the end. In this simple game and through his comical strategy, I realized something.

So often, we take the approach I took. We simply leave our lives to chance...to whatever the wheel lands on. When the destination or circumstance isn't favorable, we say things like, "This is just my lot in life" or "It is what it is."

I think I prefer my three-year-old's solution better. Charles Swindoll once said, "Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it."

We have the power to choose our destiny...maybe not everything that happens to us...but we can choose our responses.  When we CHOOSE to line up that "wheel" of life with God's promises...God's provision...God's commands... we will reach our destination with victory!

I challenge you today to push and believe for the promises that you KNOW God has in store for you. Never be quick to bow out!

Dear Lord, Thank You that through You, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE. I know that I can have victory when I choose to serve YOU!

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection: What areas in your life have you just left to chance or accepted defeat in?
