Thanks for Giving of Yourself

Hebrews 13:16  And don't forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.

One of my friends recently went to a funeral and gained a greater awareness of ALL that this person had done for others. My friend shared that numerous young people expressed their sincere gratitude for the kindness that they had received in their times of extreme need from this person and her husband.

As my friend was telling me about her experience, I was reminded of the song, Thank You, by Ray Boltz. The lines of this song below describe the reception a person received upon arriving in Heaven:

One by one they came

Far as your eyes could see

Each life somehow touched

By your generosity

Little things that you had done

Sacrifices you made

They were unnoticed on the earth

In Heaven now proclaimed

Today's scripture reminds us to do good for those in need BECAUSE this pleases God.  My challenge to you today is to do all you can for those God has placed in your life. Your actions on earth may seem to go unnoticed but know that you will be rewarded in Heaven for giving of yourself on earth!

Dear Lord, Help me to never pass up an opportunity to help others.  I desire to be a vessel used by You ... a beacon of light for the hurting.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.

Reflection:  Are you doing all you can for the hurting individuals that God has placed in your life?
