It's a Wonderful Life

Revelation 21:4  He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.

It's a Wonderful Life is considered to be one of the most loved Christmas movies ever produced. This 1946 movie portrays the life of a man who gave up his personal dreams in order to help others. When this man sadly contemplates suicide on one lonely Christmas Eve, his guardian angel reveals how he has actually touched so many and how different their lives would have been if he had not been born. The man realizes that he has indeed lived a wonderful life ... a life filled with purpose.

Today's scripture paints a picture of the wonderful life that those who love The Lord will have in heaven. There will be no more death, sorrow, crying, or pain. It will be a place of total safety, total peace, total love, total joy. A place where everyone will live in harmony.

On a recent trip to a drive-through wildlife center, my husband and I were able to experience a setting where animals freely roamed throughout the park amongst numerous vehicles. These animals demonstrated a complete lack of fear because they had become acclimated to living harmoniously in their safe haven ... to having a WONDERFUL LIFE!

As Christians, we are assured of a future home in a place where we will live for eternity in the presence of God ... in a home prepared for us by Jesus. 1 Corinthians 2:9 describes what awaits for us "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him."

In Heaven there will be no persecution, division, disunity, or hate. There will be no disappointments ... nothing will make us sad. I once read that we "will have no more unanswered questions, no confusion, no ignorance, and no more need to walk by faith rather than by sight." It will be a WONDERFUL LIFE!

My challenge to you today is to draw comfort from Philippians 3:20 REGARDLESS of your present circumstances - "But we are citizens of Heaven, where The Lord Jesus Christ lives." Know that life on Earth is a temporary residence where we are afforded an opportunity to do all we can to fulfill the plans that God has for each of us. As a citizen of Heaven who lives on earth, always strive to bring a little Heaven to Earth by sharing God's WONDERFUL love.

Dear Lord, I am so grateful for the gift of eternal life with You. Help me to always keep my eyes focused on what You have in store for me.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life
