Exodus 33:14   The Lord replied, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."

Have you ever reflected on the saying that God never gives us more than we can handle? I recently had a few moments to do so as I was praying for someone who has encountered a number of difficult circumstances during her lifetime.

As I was thinking about all she has gone through, the poem, "Footprints in the Sand" came to mind. If she would not sincerely believe that God's presence is ALWAYS with her, she could legitimately begin to question why God would leave her when she needed Him the most.

Instead, this faithful person chooses to hold on to scriptures such as today's one which tells us not only that God's presence will be with us but that He will give us rest. Matthew 11:28-30 restates this promise: "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

I believe that the last lines of "Footprints in the Sand" beautifully describe what God is doing for us in our darkest times. The Lord replied: "My precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

God is there to carry us through our darkest times. He knows when we are in desperate need of His help AND is always available to carry us when we just can't go any farther on our own...when we begin calling out to Him in desperation.

Have you ever wondered about God's size....His strength...? I challenge you today to think of our God as the very BIG God that He IS! A God IMMENSE enough to lift us up and carry us in His right hand. A God HUGE enough to take care of all of our problems. A God FORMIDABLE enough to squelch all of our fears. A God GIGANTIC enough to scare away all of our foes. A God HUMONGOUS enough to have a heart that is capable of IMMEASURABLE love for us all.

Do you think that He is BIG enough to help you handle all that you are presently encountering????

Dear Lord, I am so grateful to You for loving me enough to pick me up and carry me when I can't go anymore. Thank You for providing the support that I need at these times to continue with the plans that You have established for my life!

I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
