Romans 5:8 But God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Today, we continue our series on peace and examine the next crucial step in obtaining peace: Pray about everything. Tell God What you need.
Philippians 4:6-7 commands, "Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. THEN you will experience God's peace..."
Matthew 6:8 reveals that God, your Father, "knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him!"
So, if He knows what we need already, why do we need to ask? Because He desires a relationship with each of us.
I didn't think that this following example could happen when a child was only 3, but it has amazed me that when I pick my son up from school, he'll give me ONE word answers when asked about his day. "Good. Nothing. Friends. Fun."
Consequently, I now barrage him with questions! I remember doing this with my mom as a teenager...thinking she asked a lot of questions. I NOW understand! This little guy is my world. I typically know how his day went because I can see if he's happy or sad, but I want to hear it from him. I want him to tell me what he learned and who he played with. I want to know if he is having trouble with something or if there is something I can do to help him. I adore him.
If I as a flawed man feel this way about my son, how much more does God, our PERFECT father, feel that way about us? He wants to hear your voice. Zechariah 2:8 says that you are the apple of His eye. In the original Hebrew in which it was written, the word "apple" means "pupil."
To understand how valuable you are as the "apple of God's eye," just TRY to touch someone's pupil. That individual will probably move quickly to protect his eye, and you may get an unpleasant surprise lol.
God is crazy about you. He desires to have a relationship with you, to protect you and to give you peace.
So, my challenge to you today is to not just give Him a one word answer...but talk to Him. Tell Him everything. He loves you so much and desires to pour out His peace upon your life and His plans of a magnificent hope and future.
Dear Lord, I am sorry for times that my communication with You has been limited. You are an amazing Father and a faithful friend, and I put my hope and trust in You.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
