If a poll would be taken to determine which season of the year is the most favored, I am sure that the results would show that there is a reason for selecting each one. For many reasons including the gorgeous weather, the longer nights (I am getting older and need more sleep-LOL), and the approaching holidays, I would have to select Fall as my favorite holiday.
Summer, on the other hand, is probably my least favorite season. Since I do not respond well to hot weather, I tend to stay inside a lot during the summer with much gratitude for air conditioning! While summer is not my favorite season of the year, I know that for many this is their absolute favorite.
Thankfully, we can all take comfort in knowing that the next season of the year is just right around the corner. Interestingly, the changing of seasons is very similar to what occurs in our lives. Although we will not like every situation that we encounter along our journey of life, we know that our current circumstance will run its course...We realize that "This Too Will Pass."
Today's scripture assures us that God will deliver the righteous man from the many troubles that he faces. God KNOWS that we are able to endure whatever season we are in because He is always watching over us and IS ABLE to deliver us right on time. The important thing is for us to never give up...to trust in His constant presence in our lives.
My challenge to you today is to hold on to the words of an acronym for CHANGE that I once read: Christ Has A New Gift Everyday for us. If we could comprehend that each moment of our day is a gift from God and that His plan for our lives is unfolding in each of these moments...each of our seasons, we could then look upon the changes that are occurring in our lives not as problematic but as opportunities for us to respond to His plan. We could embrace our present season with faith in His ability to bring us through it...to work out everything for our good.
Dear Lord, With the promise of Psalm 94:14 "For the Lord will not cast off His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance," I can confidently walk not in fear but in faith no matter what situation comes my way. Help me to approach each new day and even each moment as an opportunity for You to pour out Your blessings in my life!
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
