OOPS, LOL...I Meant to Say...

Job 37:5 God thunders with His wondrous voice; He does awesome works that we don't comprehend.

Woman Texting

I am sure almost all of our cell phones have predictive text or auto correct on it.  I have had many humorous and embarrassing blunders when typing too fast.  I once read a story of a girl who received a text from her dad saying, "Mom and I are going to divorce next month."  She was extremely shocked as she thought her parents were happy.

However, before she could reply, she received a second text, "I meant DISNEY...mom and I are going to DISNEY next month."  What a difference!

Predictive text works by learning the patterns and the most common words in which we as individuals text and that the average person uses. The problem is that it's often incorrect and can result in humiliation.

So often, I believe that we can be like that predictive text function on our smartphones when it comes to God.  We look at how God did things in the past or how we logically think a situation should be handled and our response is totally contrary to God's response.

Today's verse reveals that there is no way that we can possibly comprehend the ways of God.  He is so great, and His reasoning and power is beyond our natural understanding.  Too often, we make decisions based on our limited knowledge or worldly expectations. However, God has the ability to break all limits and all barriers.

Job 11:7 proclaims, "Can you find out the deep things of God? Can you find out the limit of the Almighty?"

I challenge you today to take time to truly listen to what God is trying to say to you.  Don't just jump to conclusions or try to finish God's sentence.  Instead, put your trust in Him and His unlimited resources.  He has the solution you need, the peace you need, the answers you need, and the power that you need.

Throughout the day, ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you...to make Himself real to you.  Pick up your Bible and read His completed thoughts.  The Word of God is a wonderful instruction manual for all of us to live by. God has entrusted us with some very precious responsibilities in this life, but He doesn't just toss us out on our own.  He's given us His Word to guide us.

And always remember...you can't compare your situation to someone else's situation and expect the same results.  He has a specific and perfect plan for you!

Dear Lord, Help me to always see things as YOU see them. I know that You have a great plan for my life!

I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
