Feeling Inadequate
1 Corinthians 2:9 That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him."
I'll never forget the day I brought our baby boy home. I felt excited, blessed...and OVERWHELMED! While my husband was rolling me and our baby out to the car in the wheelchair provided, I looked up at him and said, "Are they really just going to let us take this baby home?"
I had never been a parent. I was only in my 20s. They didn't KNOW me. "Surely," I thought, "They should make us take a test or something."
He laughed while gently placing our son into his carseat for his first ride. I've often wondered why God gives babies to the young and inexperienced...questioning why he doesn't save that joy for later in life.
However....anytime someone older sees my ENERGETIC little boy, they say, "THAT'S why God gives babies to the young." Of course, God knows what He is doing!
You see, there will always be new seasons that we walk into that we feel inadequately prepared for....maybe it's a new job, a new baby or even an unfortunate medical report.
In these seasons, God is there to guide us. Ask Him what the Psalmist asked in Psalm 25:4, "Show me Your ways, LORD, teach me Your paths." He will be faithful to do so.
Regardless of the situation and how we feel, God is always there to lead and protect us. When I finally got home that day with my baby, a natural instinct kicked in. In addition, a grace for the most exhausting season of my life thus far was poured out upon me.
You may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, and even hopeless but know that God will NEVER leave nor forsake you. He has prepared you for this season. He will see you through, and you WILL come out stronger.
I challenge you today to never fear the unknown. No one wants you healed, healthy and happy more than your Heavenly Father. He loves you more than you can ever IMAGINE. Today's scripture reveals that no one can even grasp what God has in store for the ones that love Him. Put your hope, your trust, and your love in Him.
Dear Lord, Although I may feel inadequate at times, it's okay because my faith is in You not in myself. Please lead me and guide me always. Thank You for Your faithfulness.
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. |
