I CAN Fly

Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for BUILDING UP as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

 Bumble bee

When I was a young girl, a favorite uncle told me that I would probably trip as I was walking down the aisle on my wedding day. Now, you may be wondering why a "favorite" uncle would say such a thing to a young girl. In his defense, I have to admit that I was quite CLUMSY as a child!

Our words have more POWER than we realize. Sadly, the impact of what we speak over the lives of others can be positive or negative. In my case, my uncle's words planted a seed of fear of something terrible happening on one of the most special days of any girl's life. Thankfully, my worst fear did not come true!

I once heard a conference speaker state that aerodynamically there should be no way a bumble bee can fly because the wings are just too fragile to take something the size of a bumble bee and move it unsupported through empty space. However, the speaker added that bumble bees ARE ABLE to fly because no one ever told them that they COULD NOT do so!

Today's verse as well as the reference to the bumble bee reinforce the importance of speaking positively in the lives of others. By doing so, we have the opportunity to help them rise to new heights EVEN IF they may not APPEAR to possess the ability to do so.

My challenge to you today is to ONLY speak words of encouragement into your own life as well as the lives of others! Proverbs 18:21 warns that "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits." Always realize that your words hold great power and potential! Rather than fearing that you will fall flat on your face know that through Him you can defy all odds and soar higher than ever imagined!

Dear Lord, Proverbs 16:24 tells me that "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." Help me to always speak words into my own life and into the lives of others that are edifying and uplifting ... Words that reflect Your Will!

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
