Angels Are Real
Psalm 91:11-12 For He will order His angels to protect you wherever you go. They will hold you up with their hands so you won't even hurt your foot on a stone.
Throughout God's Word, evidence of angels protecting His children can be found. Daniel 6:22 describes Daniel's rescue from the lion's den - "My God sent His angel to shut the lions' mouths so that they would not hurt me." Acts 12:11 recounts Peter's reaction when he was rescued from prison by an angel - "It's really true!" he said. "The Lord has sent His angel and saved me!"
I can recall imagining what my "guardian angel" looked like when I was a young child. As an adult, I am no longer preoccupied with the appearance of the angels around me, but I do pray to God to send His angels to protect me, my family and those I am praying for each day.
As I was getting dressed for work earlier this week, I saw the ending of an interview with American Bendita Malakia who survived the Kenyan Westgate Mall terrorist attack.
She shared that an AMERICAN SECURITY TEAM came into the back room of a mall store where she and several other individuals were hiding and advised "If you guys want to get out, we understand, it's dangerous, but this is probably your best shot. If you don't get out now, you may not get out." They were ALL able to escape the mall with the assistance of this team EVEN WHEN the terrorists lobbed two grenades as they ran for safety.
Before her rescue, Bendita sent a text message to her father in the United States asking her family to pray for her. Since the State Department has not confirmed that American forces were involved in rescue operations at the mall, Bendita and her family do not know the identity of her rescuers. However, they DO KNOW that they prayed for God's protection and rescue from her captors. I believe that He did send His angels to do just that.
My challenge to you today is to always call out to Him in your time of devastation. Psalm 34:7 promises that "His angel guards those who honor the Lord and rescues them from danger."
Dear Lord, I am so grateful to You for being my Rescuer - the One that will never depart from in me in my time of trouble. Thank You for sending Your angels to protect me when I am in danger.
I also thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
Please note that this week is the last week for the early bird Anchored Conference registration.
