Fall is my absolute favorite season! I love the cooler weather, the comradery people exhibit over sports, and the approaching Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons!
A couple of weeks ago, I walked outside and there was a hint of "fall" in the air. It was still weeks before the actual change of seasons, but I could feel that it was coming soon. Now, today (two days before the actual first day of fall), I feel NOTHING except the heat of summer!
One reason for not being able to sense the approach of fall today is because I live in South Louisiana ... a place where there is not always a clear differentiation between the seasons. In the winter, we could experience an extremely cold day followed by scorching heat.
Regardless of whether I "feel" the change of the season or not, it IS currently in the process of doing so.
In your Christian walk, you may be at a place where you desperately need a change of season. You may need reprieve from the dry, heat of "summer." You may not FEEL that it is even possible for things to improve, but always recognize that God is MOVING in your situations! Today's verse encourages all believers not to grow weary for in ... "due SEASON" ...those who do not give up WILL reap a harvest!
Whether you have been praying for healing in your body, your relationships, your finances or in ANY other area, don't give up, don't give up, don't give up!!!
Even in the most seemingly dreadful seasons ... like a northern winter or southern summer, God is still working in those seasons. He is preparing the crops for a great harvest.
Daniel 2:21 reveals that God "changes times and seasons." If you find yourself in an undesired season, I challenge you to identify the blessings and the Hand of God even in this dry time. Maybe God has been preparing you for the coming harvest! Know that God can SUDDENLY change your season if you seek Him. Remember "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Dear Lord, I thank You that You are always working on my behalf. Even in my darkest hours, You are moving and protecting me. I may not always "feel" it, but You are so much bigger than a feeling. I put all of my trust and hope in YOU!
I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
