Suddenly

Isaiah 40:31 "...but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Thoughts

As the years go by, it is very easy to become discouraged if we are not able to visually see the things that God has placed in our hearts come to fruition. For many years, my husband and I have both believed that God truly had a great plan for us. In fact, when we shared our thoughts on the matter, we were in agreement as to the direction we felt God was leading us.

However, waiting for this plan to unfold has been trying at times. The waiting can lead to moments of questioning whether or not we had clearly heard from God. Was He attempting to tell us something else that we had mistaken for our own vision?

Then - SUDDENLY - God's plan was confirmed in a big way for us. Last week, we had the incredible opportunity to become acquainted with two individuals who not only share the SAME vision that we have had for serving God in our retirement years, but they have already begun their work. Listening to them talk about what they have done brought such excitement to our hearts and spirits.

We quickly realized that being placed in their path was such a divine intervention. It truly made today's scripture come alive for us. We were so blessed to know that God WAS going to use us in the way that we had envisioned AND that He sent our two new friends to guide our way. We realized two very important things - God's timing is always the RIGHT time, AND, as stated in Galatians 6:9, "...we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up!"

My challenge to you today is to press forward even when your vision seems to be distant or even unanswered. During these times, trust in God's timing AND hold on to the promise that He gives to us in Isaiah 40:29 "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak."

Dear Lord, I humbly admit that there have been times when I have become discouraged in my work for You.... anxiously waiting for the blessings that You have promised for those who do not grow weary. Please help me to always faithfully serve You and to realize that Your timing is always perfect!

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
