Ineffective Darts

Ephesians 6:16 ....take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

My husband and I slept at my mother's house for several nights while my brother who lives with her was out of town. My three-year old granddaughter could not understand why we were doing so. On one of the nights, she sadly proclaimed that we must love Granny more than we love her. She associated my love for her with my physical presence in her life.

We are often placed in a situation where we must put our trust in a God who is not physically present in our lives BUT totally present in Spirit and in the FAITH that we possess - a faith that enables us to overcome our circumstances.

Today's verse encourages us to take up our Shield of Faith in defense of the fiery darts that we face in life. However, before we can do this, we must possess an unwavering faith in God's Word - in God's love - in His very EXISTENCE.

There is ample scientific evidence that supports the Christian faith. Thousands of archaeological finds show indisputable evidence that the Bible is true.

In addition to scientific evidence, there is undeniable prophetic evidence. In fact, there is 100% accuracy of the events that were prophesied to have taken place by now.

The tenets of our faith have also been clearly substantiated by the large number of hand-written manuscripts such as The Dead Sea Scrolls that have been discovered and that are overwhelmingly similar to our Bible text.

Sadly, for some, even these facts are not enough. However, in John 20:29, Jesus proclaims, "...blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Maybe you are yet to SEE the miracle you need. Don't lose faith. Hebrews 13:8 says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." What He did more than 2000 years ago, He can do TODAY for YOU!

My challenge to you when the devil is attempting to use you as a bullseye is to confidently hold up your SHIELD OF FAITH - your confidence in God. Hebrews 11:1 reaffirms the following - "Now FAITH is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Even when you don't immediately "see" what you have hoped for, you can be CERTAIN that He is ALWAYS working on your behalf SHIELDING you from the enemy's attacks.

Dear Lord, I thank You that through my faith in You, I can be protected from the fiery darts of the enemy that come to discourage me.

I thank You, my Jesus, for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life.
