"Get Things Right"
Hebrews 4:13 "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account."
Have you ever gone into a panic when unexpected guests called to say that they were on their way for a quick visit? Did you frantically begin to solicit the help of your family to put the house in order? My husband and children always gave me such a hard time when I would do this very thing. I just had to "get things right" before my guests arrived!
What was the end result of my craziness? Did we succeed in covering up our DISARRAY....OR....Were our visitors able to detect little signs that the house was only surface clean?
Now, please know that my house was never really dirty. It just reflected where we were at that time of our lives--five busy people with a multitude of responsibilities, obligations and interests. Our house wasn't filthy....It just needed a little attention.
Is your life in such a state? If so, you may think twice about having God drop in for an unannounced visit. You would probably want to clean up a little.....or maybe a lot!
Sadly, many of us live in this state. However, today's scripture tells us that God knows EVERYTHING about us. If we would really comprehend that God IS always watching, I believe that many of our actions and decisions would be better ones. OR, we would be quicker to ask God for forgiveness for the things we know that we should not be doing.
Since we are human, we will always struggle with our choices. Even the Apostle Paul struggled as described in Romans 7:15 "I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do."
I challenge you today to keep God's constant presence in your mind and heart at all times. Although we may stumble at times, I feel certain that we will do so less often if we live with the realization that NOTHING is Hidden from Him!
Dear Lord, I come before You today to ask You to reveal the areas in my life that are not pleasing to You. My heartfelt desire is to "get things right" in my life so that I could present myself to You as a worker approved to do Your will AT ALL times.
I thank You Jesus for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen. |
