Out of the Pig Pen
Psalm 113:5-7 "Who can be compared with the Lord our God ... He stoops to look down on heaven and on earth. He lifts the poor from the dust and the needy from the garbage dump."

Have you ever heard anyone state that it would surely take a miracle for "so and so" to change? Sadly, I believe that we have all had the same thoughts about certain individuals we know. Thankfully, we are not God. As we read in today's scriptures, our loving God is always searching for those who are in dire straits.
David shares in Psalm 40:2 what God can do for the individual who needs to change, for you and for me: "He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; He set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." What do you have to do to receive this divine intervention in your life? James 4:10 provides this answer: "Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will LIFT you up".
A perfect Biblical example of humbling oneself in the sight of the Lord is the account of The Prodigal Son. In this parable, a son demanded his inheritance and left his family to live life frivolously and carelessly. When he hit rock bottom and literally came to his senses in a pig pen, he proclaimed in Luke 15:18, "I will arise and go to my father and will say to him, 'Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.'"
The father joyfully accepted his son with open arms.
One definition of a miracle is "an event attributed to divine intervention". God's willingness to intervene in our lives-to SWOOP down to rescue us-is one of the greatest miracles of all.
There are no hopeless cases with God, and there is nothing you could have done in your past to cause him not to take you back.
My challenge to you today--if you ever find yourself far away from "home" in less than desirable circumstances--is to lift up your arms to Him. He will joyfully welcome you with open arms.
Dear Lord, Forgive me for times that I have strayed from You and Your plans for my life. I am so grateful that You love me enough to pull me out of my deepest pit. Thank You for working on my behalf and on the lives of those I love.
I thank You Jesus for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
P.S. Today is MARCH 4th-We believe that March 4th is not just a date but a COMMAND. March FORTH today in what God has called you to do. STEP into all that He has for YOU!
