BIG Arms of God

Isaiah 59:1 Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.

With his arms stretched wide, our four-year-old friend Landon recently told his mom, "Mommy I love Jesus THIS much!"  Delighted, she replied, "But Jesus loves you even more!"  Landon then looked at his mother with a "duh" type of expression and said, "I KNOW cause he's got bigger arms."

 God

This sweet conversation between a mom and her precious son immediately reminded me of today's verse,"The arm of the LORD is not too short to save..."

Landon, a toddler, had no doubt of the length of God's arms, but too often, our faith is not as strong as that of a child.  When faced with situations in life that are out of our control and that seem impossible, it's easy to feel hopeless.  However, it's important to know that YOUR reach is totally different than GOD's reach.

From the time my son was born, his height has always been in the 90th percentile compared to other children his age.  So, when he began to walk, he was able to reach things (including the stovetop) that most children were unable to reach.

It was difficult to reason with a one-year-old on what was okay to touch and what was harmful for him.  So, we had to push anything that he was not ready for or that could hurt him "out of reach."

Of course, he didn't understand that, and at times, he would get VERY upset.

We are no different.  As children of God, He knows what we are ready for, what we should and should not have, and what could hurt us.  We may not always understand His ways.  We may even get VERY upset at times over various circumstances.

However, although, our reach is limited, God's ARMS are "not too short to save."  Everything you need is in HIS reach, and He is a faithful God who, according to Phillipians 4:19, will meet " all your needs."

I challenge you today to live each day by Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding."  Without a doubt, He's got WAY bigger arms than we do!!!!

Dear Lord, Help me to put ALL my trust in You.  Thank You that You will provide what I need exactly when I am ready for it.

I thank You Jesus for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
