Undercover God
Psalm 5:3 "In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation."
On my husband's commute to work each morning, he consistently prays for the safety of his family as they travel to work and school. I believe that through his prayers, God has been faithful to protect our family even when we didn't realize it. There have been times we were late or maybe took another route only to find out that there was an accident at the time we would have been passing by. Coincidence? I think not!
The end of today's scripture tells us to WAIT EXPECTANTLY after presenting our requests to God. I believe that we often miss out on the many miracles that occur in our lives because we are not aware that He deserves credit for some of the seemingly coincidental occurrences. Albert Einstein is credited to saying that "Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous." How many personal miracles have we brushed off as mere coincidences?
Several years ago, my husband took several of us to The Woodlands, Texas for a shopping trip. We were traveling in the fast lane of the interstate when it suddenly ended leaving us sandwiched between a concrete barrier and an 18-wheeler which was traveling at the same speed in the next lane. I closed my eyes because I knew that we would be crushed between the truck and the barrier! Miraculously, my husband calmly accelerated and was able to squeeze in front of the 18-wheeler. Afterwards, we were all initially quiet trying to make sense of what had just occurred. Then, we all began to speak of how God had made a way for us to get out of this potentially deadly situation without even a scratch. With hearts pounding in our chests, we offered our gratitude for God's intervention. He had truly answered my husband's morning requests to keep his family safe as they traveled.
My challenge to you today is to make your requests known to God every morning and to WAIT EXPECTANTLY for Him to work things out for your good. Once He does perform the miraculous, remember to go to Him with a grateful heart.
Dear Lord, Please always allow me to discern Your hand at work in my life and to thankfully give You glory for all of the seemingly coincidental things that occur to me. You ARE working ALL things out for my good.
I thank You Jesus for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
