Grab His Hem
Miracle Monday Testimony

Luke 8:42-44  "......As Jesus was on His way, the crowds almost crushed Him. And a woman was there who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years, but no one could heal her. She came up behind Him and touched the edge of His cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped."

woman with issue of blood
When I read about the woman with the issue of blood who was miraculously healed by Jesus, I am always reminded of a miracle that occurred in my own life more than twenty years ago when I was afflicted with a similar condition.

My husband, Craig, had just started working for a new company, and our insurance was not going to take effect for thirty days. I, unfortunately, became extremely ill. Although I was only in my 30s at the time, it was determined that I probably needed a total hysterectomy. Since we had no insurance, we were seriously considering paying for the procedure with our limited savings but knew that any further issues discovered in the surgery could be detrimental to our finances. At the time, we had three young children and money was tight.

Although I was not feeling well, Craig and I went to a special church service. After the service, prompted by Craig, the minister prayed that I would be healed just as the woman with the issue of blood was healed. I wholeheartedly agreed in prayer with Craig and the minister. I knew that we would have to go to the doctor's office the next morning if I did not get a healing that night! I was desperate for a healing.

I have to say that I did not feel anything out of the ordinary when the minister prayed with me. On our way home, Craig and I prayed that the healing would take place during the night. We did not allow doubt to enter our minds...we fervently prayed for a divine touch from God!

When I woke up the next morning, there was NO evidence of my illness. I had been completely HEALED, and it was later confirmed at my next doctor's visit when my insurance was reinstated. I ecstatically called all of my friends and family members who had prayed for me BECAUSE God had answered our prayers.

I challenge you today that if you need God's healing touch, approach your situation with the belief that God can and does still perform miracles.  Grab hold to the hem of His robe and make your request known to Him. It does not matter how small you may think the request is. The Bible tells us that God even cares about the sparrow, which was worth half a penny in Bible times. Matthew 10:31 encourages us, "So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."

Prayer

Dear Lord, You tell me in Mark 9:23 that "Everything is possible for one who believes." My heartfelt prayer this morning is to always come to you in my times of distress with this type of faith AND to trust that You will answer my prayer according to Your will. I thank you Lord for still being the God of miracles!

I thank You Jesus for dying for me. I believe that You are Lord and that God raised You from the grave so that I can have eternal life. In the Name of Jesus I pray, Amen
