My little boy and two nieces are each one year apart--my son is 2 and my nieces are 3 and 4. While they often show affection to each other through loving hugs and the things they say, sometimes, those hugs turn into body slams and those sweet words go sour! Did I mention that they were 2, 3 and 4 lol?
Of course, we cherish the sweet moments hoping to capture them on video or camera, but during the less than loving moments when one, two or all three are crying because one of them offended or hurt the others, my sister and I become like detectives. Once identifying the alleged "crime" and "accused," the first question to the "accused" toddler is, "Did you do that ON PURPOSE?" Of course, the answer to that question determines if they "walk free." Soon, they will get wise, plead the 5th and seek counsel (by that, I anticipate Godly Counsel--"Jesus, help me!" lol).
Inspired by three tots, I ask today, "What are you doing ON PURPOSE?" Throughout scripture, God reveals that we were born on purpose and for a purpose! Take a deep breath... Great, now, it's confirmed--you are alive! No matter your health condition, occupation, or birth order, as long as you are breathing, God has given you a specific purpose on this earth. Today's scripture reveals that we exist for the purpose of God showing His power in our lives so that His name may be declared throughout the earth. Our purpose is to be a vessel that God can work through. What are you doing ON PURPOSE to allow the Lord to work through your life EACH DAY so that He can be glorified?
I challenge you today to find areas in your everyday life where you can PURPOSELY show the love of Christ and His power so that He will get the glory! Some call that kind of behavior a "random act of kindness," I call it a "purposeful act of Godliness!"
