Heavenly Purpose

Romans 8:28 "And we know that for those who love God

all things work together for good,

for those who are called according to His purpose."

When Jesus uttered His last words "It is finished",  He was able to do so because He had fulfilled the purpose that He was sent to Earth to accomplish. BUT what about our plan from God???  Do you ever wonder about your heavenly purpose? I know that I certainly do.....

As my husband Craig and I traveled home from Texas yesterday after spending time with my son and his wife, we chose to take the back roads rather than the interstate.  In one of the small towns, Craig saw a sign that contained the following message: "Invite Jesus into your heart to find the true reason for living".  Upon reflection of these words, I realized that this is the answer if we are unclear of our purpose.  Rather than beating ourselves up over whether or not we are fulfilling our purpose, we should reflect on our walk with God.

We should ask ourselves if we are drawing closer to Him each and everyday. If the answer is "no" OR "I am not sure," we need to truly seek Him for His direction. You don't have to go very far to find Him. Jesus provides His exact location in Revelation 3:20 "Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in...".

Yesterday, the challenge was to focus on hearing His voice. As we tune in to Him, we can easily hear that knock at the door of our hearts. My challenge to you today is to invite the Lord into your life. As you allow Him to reside in EVERY aspect of your life, the specific purpose He has for you will become clearer.

Dear Lord, My desire is to draw closer to You. Help me to make the necessary changes in my life that will result in more time and energy to focus on my relationship with you.  As we strengthen our relationship, I pray that You will reveal the PURPOSE that You have for my life. I know that Your plans for me are good ones because you say in Jeremiah  29:11  that they are "plans to prosper me and not to harm me, plans to give me hope and a future."

Thank you Lord for loving me that much!

In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
