Go Griffins!!

Girls Water Polo Dominates Wilson in a 10-1 Victory.
The Los Al Girls Water Polo team is on fire and showing no signs of slowing. Currently ranked in the top 10 in the OC Varsity Rankings, the Lady Griffins scored 10 goals in an offensive onslaught against Long Beach Wilson this past week.

The team has three remaining Sunset League games as they sit tied for first place with Newport Harbor. The Lady Griffins take on Newport Harbor this Thursday, January 28th at Newport Harbor High School at 5:00pm.  The winner of this match will have sole possession of first place.

Head Coach Dave Carlson said that the key to their success has been, "solid and disciplined defense and team play on offense."  The remaining Sunset League matches include 2/3 @Huntington Beach (6:00p) and 2/10 v. Marina (at Huntington Beach HS, 7:00p).

Los Al Dance Production "Dreaming in Color" a Huge Hit

What are people saying about the Dance Program's production "Dreaming in Color"?

"One of the most creative student productions I have seen."--Brandon Martinez

"Exciting and dynamic, top-level talent."--Eddie Courtemarche

"Creative, fun, and a smash hit."--Tracy Lundblad

This past week, The Dance Program performed one of the most dynamic and creative student productions. Dreaming in Color highlighted a range of Los Al dancers, styles, and ensembles.

The students created a gem of storytelling through dance, sound, and lights. The costuming was brilliant, the range of choreography and moves was breathtaking.  Our dancers implemented ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern, acrobatics (think cirque du soleil), and other styles in a connected narrative that merged the idea of paintings, sculpture, history, museums, and dance.

Congratulations to Mrs. Rikki Jones and our students on providing our community with four performances and sharing your creativity.
