DramaProgramKORE Academy Drama Program

This year KORE Academy expanded our drama program to include not only our annual Lexington Children's Theater experience, but also weekly drama classes for primary, intermediate and middle school students. Led by teacher, Mindi Day, the results have been impressive!

During the recent History Fair, parents, family, and friends were treated to  plays about the famous explorers, Benjamin Franklin and Lewis & Clark.

One of the  most important results of the work that Mrs. Day is doing with the students is the improved self confidence they display. Practicing, learning lines and performing in front of a group not only helps to increase long term memory but it confirms for the student their own abilities. That confidence transfers into other areas, both academic and social.

Drama is a terrific example of what makes
KORE Academy unique!

Director Candidate meeting
Wednesday, March 16 8am-9am

Carol Douglas is planning to step down as our director at the end of this school year. As a reminder, Mrs. Douglas will remain with KORE as a teacher!

The Search Committee (Debbie Masters, Sandra Denton, Becky Brass, and Vicki Henderson) has identified Beverly Henderson as a top candidate for this position. Mrs. Henderson (no relation to Vicki) has over 30 years of education experience, the majority of which is in special education administration.

We invite all our parents and alumni to meet Mrs. Henderson on Wednesday, March 16. We have scheduled this meeting at drop-off time, 8am, in the hopes that parents can arrange their schedules to join us.

Thank you for your efforts to meet and offer your feedback on this candidate. If you have any questions, contact me at 859-361-0606 or via email: vicki.henderson@koreacademy.org.

KORE GIVES BACK DAY
Friday, May 6
9am-Noon

This year we will be replacing our annual Walk-A-Thon fundraiser with a new event: KORE GIVES BACK DAY. We are excited about this new event that will serve as both a learning experience for our students and a fundraiser for the school. On May 6, all our students and teachers will be engaged in various community service projects. More information about this event will be sent home with students on March 17!
