About Our Presenters
Isabel Baker

Isabel Baker, M.A.T., M.L.S., started The Book Vine for Children over 30 years ago.  With experience as a librarian and a passion for getting good books into the hands of children, Isabel has worked to grow The Book Vine into the nation's premier selector of children's books for preschool programs.

Today, Isabel presents at education conferences and conducts literacy trainings all over the United States.
Peg Callaghan

Peg Callaghan, M.S. Early Childhood Education, M.S. Ed. Special Education, B.A. Speech and Drama, is a passionate, playful, and seasoned early childhood education trainer, presenter, and coach, devoted to enriching the lives of young children by supporting professionals in the field.  In her 30-plus years of experience, she has been a Head Start teacher and director, as well as a professor and administrator at Oakton Community College's early childhood program in Des Plaines, IL.  She now focuses on conducting workshops for teachers and families, with an emphasis on using literature to inspire and support learning.






Diane Kubitz

Diane Kubetz, M.S. Ed. Early Childhood, B.S. Child Development, is associate professor in the Early Childhood Education and Care program at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.  She has 35 years of experience in the field, having served as a college instructor, consultant and trainer, preschool director, preschool teacher, and a family child care provider.  Diane is the coauthor of The World of Children: Developing Child Observation Skills.  One of Diane's passions is creating storytelling props to enhance children's literacy experience.
Marilyn Peterson

Marilyn Peterson, M.S. Ed. Early Childhood, B.S. Elementary and Special Ed., offers interactive and engaging presentations reflecting her 35 years of experience as a classroom teacher, college instructor, teaching mentor, coach and professional development trainer.  She frequently taught a language and literacy course at Roosevelt University, and she is a winner of the Kohl McCormick Early Childhood Teaching Award.  Marilyn's passion is empowering teachers to change students' lives.
