Family Central's Belle Glade office hosted a grand opening celebration September 18th, 2013.  Family Central's Colin Walkes and Keisha Dunn-Pettis had the honor of performing the official ribbon cutting. 
 
On hand were community partners, local dignitaries, elected officials, Family Central board members, CEO Dr. Barbara Weinstein, staff, Belle Glade clients, and other guests representing the early childhood community.
  
Thanks to Nana's Food Store for providing sandwiches and refreshments.  Thanks also to Bridges of Pahokee & Belle Glade who provided activities for children from Little Hands, Heart to Heart and Bright Ideas child care centers, and to American TKA Martial Arts Studio for its Karate Demonstration!

Thanks to the Coral Springs-Parkland Rotary
Each Spring Family Central partners with the Rotary Club of Coral Springs-Parkland (RCCSP) for its annual Rotary Golf Classic.  Now in its 27th year, this fundraising event raises tens of thousands of dollars annually for local children by supporting Family Central's programs and services, and through the Rotary's scholarship foundation.
 
This year Family Central received $17,250 from the proceeds raised by the tournament, held earlier this year.  Several RCCSP members were on hand last week to present the 'big check' to Family Central.

Broward Early Childhood Educators Conference-Coming Soon!

The Early Learning Coalition of Broward County and Family Central will be hosting the annual conference on Saturday, October 12th starting at 7AM at Broward College's Central Campus.
On-line registration for early chilhood educators is still open, but closing September 25th at 5pm. Don't miss this opportunity to learn, share and network with hundreds of other early childhood professionals.  The conference is expected to have more than 900 participants, and will feature vendors, exhibitors, keynote speaker, and great workshops.

Dr. Barbara Weinstein Honored
The Florida Association for the Education of Young Children (FLAEYC) will host their 57th Annual Conference 'Children, Our Concern' September 26-29, 2013 at the Marriott World Center Hotel in Orlando. 
The conference will feature high-profile keynote speakers in the field of early childhood education, professional development sessions, seminars, children's rally and more.  Among those being honored at the conference banquet will be Family Central president and CEO, Dr. Barbara Weinstein, for her many years of work in the field of early childhood education.
