2012 Wrap-Up
Throughout each monthly issue of Dyna-Tymes we were able to highlight specific joints and share the diversity of the company's products. We were able to show that, with our Dynasplint Systems for humans and animals alike, we are able to provide an adjunct to therapy to help regain range of motion faster, in a safe and cost-effective manner.
From our start in 1981 we've added quite a few splints to our repertoire to make sure that we can provide coverage to all joints of the body, from head to toe! We "have the joint covered" when it comes to stretching.

From Joint Coverage to Insurance Coverage
Did you know that behind the scenes Dynasplint handles the billing process from beginning to end? Each patient virtually has a team of individuals to make the process as easy and smooth as possible. As a direct result of our years of industry experience we provide comprehensive support to health care providers and their patients. This support includes product fitting and instruction, follow-up care, splint adjustment and protocol delvopment and doesn't end until your patient has regained their functional range of motion and returned to their normal activities.
The process starts with your local Sales Consultant or Direct Ship Consultant providing hands-on or step by step fitting instructions. The Sales Support Representative (SSR) and the Patient Account Representative (PAR) are involved to provide the insurance, administrative, billing, and statement assistance. Because some of our units are rentals, there is also the Unit Retrieval Department (UR) to help, if necessary, with the easy return of the splint once your patient has regained their range of motion and they are enjoying life the way it ought to be.
Dynasplint Systems are covered by Medicare and many other insurance carriers. Here is an update from our Director of Reimbursement:
Dynasplint Systems, Inc. (DSI) has had an exciting year in the world of coverage and contracting! There have been two major strides forward in DSI's pursuit to overturn coverage restrictions of dynamic splinting devices.
In August, Aetna published its updated Clinical Policy Bulletin: Mechanical Stretching Device for Contracture and Joint Stiffness which added the coverage for dynamic splinting of the toe for their members.
Then in October, DSI was notified that Highmark, Inc. would be updating their Medical Policy on Dynamic Splinting effective 1/1/2013 to also include coverage of dynamic splinting of the toe for their members.
DSI will continue to work with health plans to educate and demonstrate dynamic splinting is a proven treatment and the community standard of care for joint contracture.
On the contracting front, DSI has been working hard to expand our ever growing list of contracted health plans. Just a few of the agreements which became effective in 2012 are: UnitedHealthcare, Care Improvement Plus, MagnaCare, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield of the Central Region, HealthSpring and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois. |
