VPK The Coalition is very excited to announce that we have started to invite families off the wait list for School Readiness services. Over the next few weeks we plan to enroll approximately 50 children birth to 5-year-olds in child care programs throughout Pinellas County.

Performance Funding Pilot PFP

Earlier this week, the Office of Early Learning (OEL) notified all School Readiness child care providers about the Early Learning Performance Funding Pilot Project.  This is an exciting new opportunity for providers to earn more as they help young children learn more.  Child care providers with at least 30 percent of their birth-5 enrollment made up of children in school readiness have a chance to be rewarded for improving outcomes.  Below is a copy of the original email notification from OEL and a list of useful links. Updated: Statewide SR Approved Curricula List Curric

The Office of Early Learning has released an updated list of approved curricula for use in school readiness programs serving children age birth to 5. The approved list of curricula resulted from two cycles of comprehensive and rigorous reviews conducted by a panel of experts in the field of early childhood education. An additional 17 curricula has been added to the list that was previously announced during the summer. Don't forget all school readiness providers must identify and purchase an approved curriculum from the list by November 14, 2014.  For more information and to review the updated list of curricula please see links below:

Introduction to Gee Whiz Education Webinar

Gee Whiz is hosting an introductory webinar about their curriculum for FCCH providers on September 23, 2014 at 6:30 pm EDT. The attendees will be provided an overview of the program and also be able to ask questions and get answers in real time. Gee Whiz is using GoToWebinar to help providers learn more about the curriculum, how it works, who it is written for, and much more. You will need access to a computer with speakers or telephone in order to participate.

 

Gee Whiz is just one of the many great curricula posted on the statewide list of approved SR curricula.
