New Online Training Course:
Standards for Four-Year-Olds
The Early Learning Coalition is excited to share the Standards for Four-Year-Olds online training course is now available at the DCF Child Care Training System.  This course teaches participants about the Standards for Four-Year-Olds and how to use the standards manual throughout the year to help children grow and learn during their prekindergarten year. The online course also includes pictures and videos of VPK classrooms across the state of Florida.

Don't forget, as
stated in recent legislation in F.S. 1002, VPK instructors are required to complete the Emergent Literacy as well as the Standards for Four-Year-Olds 2011 training courses by July 1, 2014. VPK Instructors with a qualifying Associate's degree or higher are not required by law to have these courses, yet they are highly recommended.   

 

How to Access Training 

  • Log into the DCF Child Care Training System 
  • Go to Instructor Led or online Courses Enroll/Unenroll.  
  • Click on the Online Course Enroll tab
  • Under Select a Training Area, choose the In-Service tab option
  • The course's module code is SFYD, and it is currently listed as Florida Standards for Four-Year-Olds - Online.
  • Registration cost is $10.00
