Statewide School Readiness List of Approved Curricula
Action Required by July 11, 2014
The Office of Early Learning (OEL) has released the mandatory statewide list of approved curricula to be used in School Readiness programs serving children birth to age five effective July 1, 2014. The OEL statewide list of approved curricula is mandatory as stated in Rule 6M-4.710, Florida Administrative Code, School Readiness Program Curricula. Local Curriculum Implementation Plan 
Our Coalition has developed a local implementation plan to enforce this statewide mandate.  To begin, all School Readiness providers are required to submit the online School Readiness Curriculum Selection form to the Coalition by July 11, 2014.

Coalition staff is here to help you through this implementation process. We will be offering technical assistance and training opportunities to help providers select a curriculum. We want you to be successful in providing high quality early education programs for children.  Please review the Implementation Timeline listed below as these important dates may effect your School Readiness Agreement.

July 1 - November 13 Technical assistance and training opportunities for curriculum selection  
November 14  All non-compliant School Readiness providers will receive a Service Improvement Agreement/Corrective Action Plan. Proof of purchase of an approved curriculum is required within 10 business days. 
December 2  Non-compliance of purchasing curriculum will result in suspension of School Readiness payment until compliance is demonstrated within 10 business days. 
December 16 Failure to demonstrate compliance will result in termination of the provider's School Readiness Agreement.  Families will be contacted to transfer to other School Readiness providers.   
December 31  Termination of School Readiness Provider Agreements 

As stated in the timeline above, providers that fail to identify and purchase  an approved curriculum within the implementation time frame will be placed on a Service Improvement Agreement/Corrective Action plan.  Failure to comply with Rule 6M-4.710, can lead to consequences which include but not limited to nonpayment and ultimately termination of your School Readiness Provider Agreement.
