Staff Resignation
With great regret, I am leaving my job as Student Services Coordinator to work on my novel. Out of the blue, an agent called about representing my book, and I need to dedicate full time to writing. I have loved working with everyone, meeting everyone and will be sad to depart! It would be impossible for me to leave CLC entirely, so I will return to tutoring, where I began. I want to thank all of you for your warmth and kindness towards me during the last six months. The passion and commitment of you, the tutors, is an inspiration and testament to the loving spirit of CLC.

Greetings!
We are off and running with an exciting new program with Craven Community College. We have 7 new tutors who will be tutoring students who are enrolled in the Basic Skills classes up at the college and who need extra support to achieve their learning goals. We will share these students with CCC and plan to support these students as they learn both in the classroom and one on one with a tutor. If you would like to learn more about this new program, please email me at c.mccormick@cravenliteracy.org or call the office at 637-8079.
I am happy to announce that we will be offering some new student classes at CLC in the Spring. We are looking forward to introducing a Digital Literacy Class and a Conversation Class. I will be sending a survey out in the next few weeks with detailed information about these class offerings to learn if you and your student would be interested in attending, and what literacy skills you feel will be important for your student to learn. It is with excitement and appreciation that I have had several volunteer instructors agree to lead these classes. I will provide more information as we begin to develop the courses.
Please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions! Thank you for all that you do to support your hardworking students, Carol

Please be aware that the Hours Reporting Form is changing online and on paper in March. CLC is required to report tutor session days and length of instruction time to the government and our grant providers. Submission will still be at the end of every month but individual days and times will need to be noted. CLC will be sending you an information packet in the mail in February with more information and explicit directions. Articles Needed for Student Newsletter
It's not quite like seeing your student's name in lights, but a by-line in CLC's student newspaper is pretty close. I am looking for stories for the March edition of Read All About It! What a great opportunity to practice vocabulary, sentence structure, conversation, punctuation and a million other important concepts by having your student write a story. Not an essay, not a novella, a short story, I said short, short story about any topic pertinent to your student. Please, get started today. I need them turned into me in Office A by February 24. I cannot wait to read them! Please send them to d.guillory@cravenliteracy.org
