James D. Buzzie is elected as new President.
Following the retirement of J. Michael Rogers in February of this year, James D. Buzzie was elected as new President of Douglas Steel.
Jim joined the firm in 1991 directly from the Building Construction Management program at Michigan State University. He has previously held the positions of Estimator, Project Manager, Contract & Quality Manager and Executive Vice President with Douglas Steel. |
Structural Engineers Association of Michigan has named Larry Kruth the 2011 Structural Engineer of the Year. 
Lawrence F. Kruth, P.E. is the Vice-President of Engineering, Technology
and Safety at Douglas Steel and is also a member of their Board of Directors. With over thirty years of structural engineering experience, Larry is responsible for the management of the engineering department, advancing technology in the company as well as all safety for the shop and field. Larry is a registered Professional Engineer in the States of Michigan and Pennsylvania. He is Chair of the AISC Safety Committee, and Vice-Chair of AISC TC-13 Quality Control & Assurance Specification Committee. He's a member of the AISC Research Committee, AISC TC-6 Connection Design Specification Committee, AISC Full Specification Committee, and the Research Council on Structural Connections. He's also a member of the Board of Directors of Lansing Safety Council and has been appointed to the MIOSHA Part 26, Structural Steel Erection Advisory Committee and MIOSHA Part 10, Lifting & Rigging Advisory Committee. |
