Sneed's 36th Annual Holiday Open House

Saturday & Sunday, Dec. 1st & 2nd

Join us on Saturday and Sunday for our 36th annual open house. The tradition continues! Our beautiful trees are hung to create a magical forest...perfect for playing hide and seek and for finding that special tree for your home. Make sure to visit the cottage for unique tree trimmings and holiday décor. Be inspired!

Enjoy  the sounds of Richmond's own Piano Playin' Cowboy, Meade Skelton and the Meadow Street Band, as you roast marshmallows and sip Sneed's famous cider. The musicians will provide an eclectic blend (this IS Sneed's!) of Christmas music with a little country and pop mixed in! Check out their sound at www.meadeskeltonsplace.com.

We have a gift for the first 100 customers: a glass pickle ornament!  Remember to hide the pickle ornament deep in the tree on Christmas Eve. Whoever finds the pickle in the morning gets an extra gift from Santa!

How Do You Have the Freshest Christmas Tree

on December 31st?? It's Easy !!

First, buy your tree from Sneed's...we sell the freshest trees in town, for real!

Check out this picture of one of our Christmas trees breaking bud in February in a customer's home!

Second, follow these tips:

  • Buy your tree as soon as possible (Most trees arrive in Richmond around  Thanksgiving). Purchasing your tree in mid-December when you're ready to decorate only means that it's been on sale and without water since November. Our hand selected plantation trees arrive the day before Thanksgiving and have been cut just before they are shipped.
  • Have a generous fresh cut made on the bottom of the tree here at the Garden Center before you leave...the bigger the cut the better for the tree!
  • Place your tree outside in a shady location in a container of water until you are ready to decorate it. Buy early and keep it fresh!!
  • Remember that positioning your Christmas tree away from heat sources and adding 'Tree Moist' to the water will also increase longevity.
  • Visit our Christmas Cottage for great gifts, decorations, and Christmas supplies!! The selection this year is amazing!

Everything You Need to Know About . . .
Wreaths, Garlands, and Custom Wreaths

Upon arrival, our wreaths and garlands are hand dipped in a moisture sealing preservative to ensure freshness throughout the season. We offer fresh cut roping by the yard, or by the roll, in pine, balsam, fir, as well as mixed.

We also have an outstanding team of designers that will customize your garland or wreath for you. Come on in and check out some of the beautiful creations that they will have available for purchase. If you are the "hands on" type of person, we will be having a Wreath Workshop on November 28 at 11am, so you can create your own masterpiece for the holidays! Call us at 320.7798 x 307 to reserve your spot.

Creating custom wreaths is our specialty! Linda and Claudia will be creating  their fantastical wreaths all season long. We are taking orders now! Shop early for the best selection of ribbons, dried fruits and other embellishments.

A Special Thank You from Bob Sneed:

I love this time of year!  The byproducts of seasonal change are extreme in the  spring, but the fall offers a different kind of spectacular.  From the plumes of the various grasses to the fallish sedum to the grand color of the various trees -- all of these make the transition from summer to winter just wonderful.  It also makes the fall the best time to plant shade trees as well as most other ornamental shrubs.  The fall also represents the slowing of our business from the intensity of spring and offers the opportunity to refresh and organize for the upcoming spring.  It becomes a great time to reflect on the past gardening season and the challenges and the successes we experienced along the way.  It also offers a great opportunity for the Sneed's team to express appreciation to you, all of our customers, for your loyalty and continued support.  We continue to strive for excellence in all of our endeavors, and we look forward to the spring of 2013!

Happy Holidays from all of us at Sneed's!
