Well what a great turn out for the  Luminosity Young Guns HBEN Breakfast proudly sponsored by
With an amazing 110 attendees, we were all inspired to hear stories from our potential future leaders of the Region.
Particularly moving was the presentation from XYZ Support's Charlee South.  I know we will be hearing a lot more from all of our young speakers.

More book donations delight our kids 

It is so great to see business and community partnerships: "The Westport Club, in partnership with Dymocks Children's Charities are once again inspiring children of the Port Macquarie-Hastings region to 'fall in love with reading' with $14,000 in book donations. This presentation today of 885 books to 4 schools, is a significant investment to the Club's ongoing commitment to Literacy. The books will have a major impact on each of the school's library resources and assist kids to reach an appropriate level of literacy. Dymocks Children's Charities and The Westport Club know that literacy is not just about reading, it is the foundation for learning. Literacy exerts a huge influence over a person's quality of life." Australia's Biggest Morning Tea 2013 

This year is the events 20th Anniversary and the community is gearing up for many individual, as well as many public events across the region. Last year, morning tea participants across the Northern Region (from Tweed, down to Port Macquarie & into Tamworth)  raised $537,724 towards the nationwide total of $12.3 million for Cancer Council's popular annual fundraiser, and locals are looking forward to making the 20th anniversary the biggest year yet! All businesses should take the time to understand the newly introduced "A" Sign Policy.  Follow the links to a copy of the
policy and application form (both are now available on Council's website).  There will be a grace period of eight (8) week for businesses to apply for their licence and comply with the policy prior to any enforcement action taking place.

Brisbane Water Brass Band and Rotary help raise funds for local hospital!

The Rotary Club of Wauchope's Fundraiser is coming up on Saturday 13 April 2013 with a gold coin donation to attend and net proceeds going to the Wauchope Hospital palliative Care Unit. The featured performers are the Brisbane Water Brass Band and there will be 35 Band Members in attendance at the Show at the Wauchope RSL Club. Click here for more details!
