November 4th, 2014

Race registration opened just a month ago, and we already have sixteen boats ready to take on the 2015 Marion Bermuda Race. Six of those boats are registered for the celestial class, and right now Marion, MA is the most-represented home port, with five competitors hailing from race-start HQ. Keep spreading the word!

If you're a new or returning skipper with questions about the race that you'd like answered before you register, email race@marionbermuda.com so that we can set you up with an experienced race mentor. They will guide you through the process, from pre-registration to starting the race! If you've already signed up but want a mentor, you're in luck- just email us and we'll get you squared away.

We can't wait to see you on that starting line!

Save the Date:  June 19, 2015!

NING is No More!

We've made the decision to discontinue using our NING online network due to a number of logistical difficulties. We've transitioned over to a closed Facebook group, which you can find HERE. Don't worry, the group is just 'closed' to prevent spammers from posting. Feel free to post any questions, thoughts, articles or even classifieds on the page! The group allows us to share documents, under the 'Files' tab, as well as to share events. We will also continue to send our eNews, so don't worry if you don't have Facebook!

When you join, be sure to review our posting guidelines. Administrators will approve new member requests as fast as we can!
Throwback Photos

In honor of our 20th Anniversary Race in 2015, we've started a social media movement to share old photos from races past! To the left is the crew of "Roblin" from the very first running of the race, in 1977!

We love to celebrate the history of the Marion Bermuda Race, but we need your help! Past competitors, please send your photos from any races, as recent as 2013, to Editor@marionbermuda.com!

We can't wait to see your memories!
Upcoming Race Info Sessions

Interested in joining our race to Bermuda, new to the offshore racing scene, or simply need a refresher? We're offering Information Sessions to help you prepare for a race to Bermuda or just an offshore passage at several locations throughout New England in November. Many sailors, racers and cruisers alike, want to make the passage to Bermuda, but there are so many questions that must be answered!

The presentation will kick off with the changes to the Race and the many fun activities in Bermuda for the 2015 event. The presentation will cover what perspective participants and experienced offshore sailors need to consider when doing the Marion Bermuda Race. Captain Henry Marx, of Landfall Navigation, will discuss safe passage and equipment for offshore sailing. A representative from or M2M2B rally sponsor, Hinckley Yachts, will discuss boat preparation. The schedule for these presentations is as follows:

Stamford Yacht Club, Stamford, CT November 6th 6:30 PM

Stonington Harbor Yacht Club, Stonington, CT November 8th 4:00 PM

If you're interested in attending a session, please RSVP to Editor@marionbermuda.com
