Proposed Tentative Budget - 2nd Draft
Anthony Cozzi, Director of Finance and Facilities, presented revisions from the previous budget draft. The full report is available on the District website's Board
Agenda's, Highlights, and Minutes page under Board Packets. A hard copy of the budget is also available for review in the District Administration office.
Student Enrollments
Ed Condon, Superintendent, discussed enrollment figures at Lincoln and Willard Elementary Schools. It was recommended that a fourth section of kindergarten be added at Lincoln. Also, four sections of third grade are being maintained at this time, with one Teacher's Aide requested for one of the classrooms.
At Willard, a third kindergarten section was recommended, also due to current enrollment figures. The necessary staff positions were approved by the Board.
Proposed Roosevelt Exterior Project
Anthony Cozzi presented four updated options for consideration by the Board, representing cost reductions of approximately $313,000 from previous drafts. He noted that this cost falls within the "medium" range of costs being considered by the Board.
Stakeholder organizations (Village of River Forest, River Forest Park District, River Forest Tennis Club, and River Forest Public Library) met with District representatives on August 21 to discuss the status of the project and provide additional input for Board consideration.
There was discussion among Board members, with comments from members of the Roosevelt Exterior Project Committee who were present, regarding preferred alternatives for the configuration of the north parking lot.
