Greetings!
With the last three-day weekend of the summer upon us, we hope you have plans to either relax, have a B-B-Q with family and/or friends, or get out of town like we are doing.
Al, Helen, Dave, and Carol will actually be on the Carnival Sunshine (checking her out for those of you who love to sail on Carnival). We'll include a review in the next issue of Cruise Newz.
No details here, but there is something different in this issue and it will be interesting to see how many of you read enough of this month's Cruise Newz to find it. (How's that for a "teaser?")
You all know that we can't predict what the next great cruise promotion will be, or if a current one will be extended, or if it will be better or worse or the same thing packaged differently. Just know that we will always do what is best for you when helping you choose your next vacation and work with you (or take you through) the entire process.
In late March, the Shapiro's from Maryland booked a December cruise on the Celebrity Equinox, and just recently, we were able get them lower pricing "twice" in a two-week period when we found new promotions they were eligible for on that sailing. We can't predict this happening for you, but if it does, you know we will do the same for you too!
We look forward to hearing from you so we can begin to help you plan your next memorable vacation. And too, know that we also appreciate your thoughts on your completed trips or cruises when you respond to our Welcome Home Questionnaire. Thanks to all who take the time to respond to the questionnaire.
Best regards,
Al & Helen

Secret Word of the Month |
Each month, only for subscribers of CNAV, we have a "Secret Word" hidden somewhere in one of the articles and it is worth a $25 on-board credit to all who find it.
To receive this special bonus, you just have to mention the current "Secret Word" when making a new reservation with your Richman, O'Hare & Associate agent.

FYI - Loyalty Has Benefits
As seasoned cruisers, you know that every cruise line you travel on wants you to come back to their brand rather than have you book your next trip with a "competitor."
To accomplish this, they will offer you the opportunity to book your next cruise while still on your current one. They may offer an on-board credit plus a reduced deposit to get that new booking. Each cruise line has their own unique program and rules so be sure to ask your Richman, O'Hare & Associate agent about the loyalty and "book on board" program for the cruise line you are considering for your next cruise. Many of our clients already take advantage of these "book on board" promotions offered by their favorite cruise line and enjoy the "free" money they get to spend on their next cruise.
And of course, we appreciate our loyal clients who come back to us and so we created our own Richman, O'Hare & Associates exclusive loyalty program. See the next section to learn the details of our program.
BUT, do you know we currently have a special CruiseOne loyalty bonus for booking with us again? It is in addition to what the cruise line "book on board' benefit is. What makes it unique is that you don't have to book on the same cruise line to get it. Just make a new booking on any line, any destination, any length cruise, in any type category from interior to suites within 30 days of returning home from your current trip.
This CruiseOne bonus booking benefit is $25 - $150 on-board credit and is based on the total cost of the new booking (including taxes, port expenses, and travel insurance) and combines with everything you are entitled to receive.

Richman, O'Hare & Associates Client Loyalty Rewards Program |
We want to do more than just tell you how much we appreciate your loyalty. We want to show you! With every reservation you make with a Richman. O'Hare & Associate Agent, you will receive Reward Points for that reservation.
Here are the basics of the Richman, O'Hare & Associates program.
Each passenger over the age of 21 receives one (1) point per night sailed.
Once you have accumulated 50 points, you choose whether you wish to receive either a $50 on board credit or a $75 credit towards our travel protection for your next trip.
No paperwork, no tracking anything, and no time limit to reach your next reward. Every cruise you book with us counts! We keep track and when you reach 50 points, we will ask you what you want for your reward. Points earned on the trip completed and total points to date will be included in the Welcome Home Questionnaire you will receive when returning from your trip.

Poll Question of the Month |
The question for August was twofold and here are the results:
1) Do you think the specialty restaurants are worth going to and are priced fairly?
Yes 28.5%
No 42.8%
Combination of both 28.5%
2) Do you think the quality of the food and dining experience has gone down in the "included" choices to get people to pay for the specialty restaurants?
Remained the same 57.1%
Gone down 42.8

September Question of the Month
There are many "steps" to consider when one begins to plan a cruise vacation. First, we all have our favorite or preferred cruise lines and we tend to start with them.
But they may or may not have the itinerary we want during our time frame. Now we have to consider other cruise lines/ships we may or may not be familiar with or might usually consider.
Thus, our poll question this month is: When choosing your cruise, which do you think is more important - the Cruise Line and/or ship or the Destination?

Client Recommendations & More!
We are always pleased to hear from our clients by email or phone and we want to thank you in advance for taking a few minutes to complete the short Welcome Home Questionnaire we send via email after your return from a trip. We created this section (per our clients' request in a recent survey) as a way for our clients to share their experiences with others. As you will see from the response below, we will only mention your name with permission
Received via email response on 8/1/14
Hi Al,
I will submit this paragraph concerning the Value of Travel Insurance for possible use in your next newsletter. If you include it, kindly don't give our names.
On a recent European cruise, my wife made an unplanned visit to the shipboard infirmary. Since it was outside of normal office hours, it was like a visit to the emergency room; the bill was over $750. Between our private health insurance and the travel insurance that we always purchase from CruiseOne, we were reimbursed 100%. And by the way, the shipboard doctor and nurses were skilled and respectful professionals. The facilities were modern, clean, and fully-equipped. The entire experience was very reassuring.
Received via Welcome Home Survey Aug 2014 from the Rojas family in So. Florida:
Playa Mia Beach in Cozumel, MX. Excursion booked through our partner Shore Excursion Group. Despite the fact that the kids pool happened to be down that day for maintenance, the family had a wonderful time and would go back there again. |

Featured ???????? |
Each month we enjoy talking about a different cruise line, a new destination, or something we hope is of interest to our readers. Some years back, we featured Cartagena, Columbia and finally got to visit that city ourselves last year when on a Panama Canal cruise. However, this month we decided to try something a little different.
Our featured destination is simply going to be the "link" below.
Those who click on it will be in for a surprise. Those who don't will simply learn about it in the October issue (and perhaps wish they had). |

And a little humor to end with.........
| |
Out of the mouths of babes!
A little boy was attending his first wedding ceremony.
After the service, his cousin asked him, "How many women can a man marry?" "Sixteen," the boy responded. His cousin was amazed that he had an answer so quickly. "How do you know that?" "Easy," the little boy said. "All you have to do is add it up, like the pastor said, 4 better, 4 worse, 4 richer, 4 poorer."
A little girl was sitting on her grandfather's lap as he read her a bedtime story. From time to time, she would take her eyes off the book and reach up to touch his wrinkled cheek. She was alternately stroking her own cheek, then his again.
Finally she spoke up, "Grandpa, did God make you?"
"Yes, sweetheart," he answered, "God made me a long time ago."
"Oh," she paused, "Grandpa, did God make me too?"
"Yes, indeed, honey," he said, "God made you just a little while ago."
Feeling their respective faces again, she observed, "God's getting better at it, isn't he?"
Last, since our newsletter is called Cruise Newz, we thought this was fitting.
A Joy Filled month to You And Yours
