Senior Academics Wing under construction

Our new building at the Morven campus is really taking shape! With the construction of the second floor of the Senior Academics Wing well underway and the roof in place over the Gymnasium Complex we are getting a real sense of how spectacular our new school will be.

Matching the progress of construction is the progress of the capital campaign. We are grateful for the generosity of our parents and the faith they have shown in the School so far.

January 2014 will see the beginning of the final phase of our campaign which continues through to June. We will begin by hosting information evenings for parents at each grade level. These events will give us the opportunity to show you the new Morven Campus plans and construction site, and tell you how these new facilities will elevate your children's educational experience. We'll also share why this was the right time for Collingwood to take this step and how we are giving every Collingwood family the opportunity to be part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to build a new school.

Whether you are a Wentworth or Morven parent, or both, you will be able to see the progress we are making towards our $10 million goal with banners, thermometers and posters at both campuses. We will also post exciting updates, stories and videos on our website so that you can follow our progress.

2014 will be a monumental year for Collingwood. With the support of all of our families we will achieve the largest and most successful campaign in the school's history, and move into our amazing new Morven Campus.

A MESSAGE FROM RAY CASTELLI AND BARBARA BARRY

Board member, PC Member, Volunteers and believers in Collingwood

Barbara Barry (Parents' Council)
Barry Castelli '21
Ray Castelli (Board of Governors)
Why do parents send their children to Collingwood when there are a number of very good public schools in our area?

We do it because we all want the best for our children: the best programs; the best teachers; and the best facilities. We invest in Collingwood in order to prepare our children to optimize their potential and become well-rounded citizens of an increasingly competitive world. That's the common bond we all share as parents of Collingwood students.

Parents make it happen at Collingwood. That's part of the reason we were attracted to move to West Vancouver to become part of the Collingwood community. That's why we chose to get involved with Parent's Council and with the Board of Governors. It's also why we've contributed to the Capital Campaign, the Tartan Fund for small capital projects and will continue to support the Foundation in the future. We want to help build the best school possible.

The current Capital Campaign will result in Collingwood having one of the best new school facilities in western Canada. This will become a magnet to attract even more great teachers, and more like-minded families and, in turn, will result in even better programs and more support. This will also contribute to building our brand, which further attracts more people to want to be part of our community. It's a virtuous circle.

Your contribution is also an important message to your children. Things don't just happen. People make them happen. We're investing in our children's future to provide the best facilities possible and a legacy we can all be proud of.

We hope that everyone will take advantage of the opportunity to come in and meet to learn more about the campaign and how each of us can play our part in building our school. Thanks for your help.
