Grad 1993 20 Year Reunion Class of 1993 alumni came from BC, Washington State and Ottawa to celebrate their 20 Year Reunion on September 21st at The Beach House in West Vancouver. Joining them to reminisce about their days at Collingwood were their former teachers, Roger Hatch, Janis Clark, and Val and Stu Morton. |
Grad 1998 15 Year Reunion

We introduced 15 year reunions last year, and our Class of 1997 15 Year Reunion was a great success. This year we're holding the 15 Year Reunion at The Clough Club (adjoining the Lamplighter in Gastown). For details and to RSVP, click here.

Grad 2003 10 Year Reunion

Our 10 Year reunions have become so successful that we're moving to a larger venue this year! The Grad 2003 10 Year Reunion will be held at Cinema Public House on Granville

Our New Contest to Win a $100 Visa Gift Card Our Alumni Directory Contest has been so successful that we're running another contest. To enter, just visit the Alumni Directory to login or register, complete all required information (marked by an *) by December 31, 2013, and you could be the lucky winner of our draw for another $100 Visa Gift Card! Congratulations to Elizabeth Sadowski '05 on being the lucky winner of our last contest. We're keen to stay in touch with you, whether it's through our email communications or when we're organizing out-of-town events, so we really need and appreciate your updates. The Alumni Directory also provides great networking opportunities within its Business and Mentorship directories. The next draw will take place on January 4, 2014. The winner will be notified by email and the winner's name will be published in the January edition of AlumNotes and on the alumni website. All alumni who login/register and complete the required information by December 31, 2013 will automatically be entered in the contest. |
Class Notes
1998
Congratulations to Dr. Pamela Walker '98, who will be inducted into the Oberlin College Heisman Hall of Fame on October 4, 2013. In recognizing Dr. Walker, Oberlin's website states:
"Pamela Walker was an elite goalie for the Yeowomen field hockey team, earning NCAA All-America honors as a senior in 2001. In that season she led the nation with .938 save percentage, allowing just seven goals on 112 total shots. She was a four-time National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Region selection and was named as the NCAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2001. Walker was also a four-time All-Academic selection by the NFHCA."
2003
The Walker family also recently celebrated the marriage of Pamela's brother, Dr. Greg Walker '03 to his UBC medical school classmate, Dr. Rupinder Sohal. Fellow alum Alex Bloomberg '03 was Best Man and a number of Collingwood faculty and friends attended the wedding at the Terminal City Club in Vancouver.

Speaking of field hockey alumni, lifelong friends and former classmates
Hailey Reeves '13 and Natalie Ludwig '13 caught up with each other and enjoyed some friendly rivalry while playing varsity field hockey for their respective Ivy League schools, Princeton and Dartmouth.

The Alumni Executive Committee oversees the Collingwood School Alumni Association. If you are interested in joining the Executive Committee or one of its committees, or would like to be a Class Rep for your year, we would like to hear from you. Mackenzie Awards
Established in 2007, the Mackenzie Awards recognize Collingwood alumni who have exhibited outstanding excellence in one of the four strands (Academics, Arts, Athletics or Service). The Mackenzie Awards need not be awarded every year.
Announcing two new Alumni Association Awards
In recognition of the fact that not all achievements fall within the four strands, that the Alumni Association has created two new awards, which need not be awarded every year.
The Alumni Association Honours Award will recognize outstanding accomplishments as a result of business or professional achievements, or the display of great courage in the face of adversity.
The Alumni Association Volunteer Award will recognize service to the Alumni Association and/or to Collingwood School.
If you wish to nominate a Collingwood alum for any of the above awards, please send in a completed Nomination Form by November 1st, 2013. Victoria/Vancouver Island Alumni - Save the Date! We are hosting a reunion for all Vancouver Island alumni at 5pm on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at the University Club - University of Victoria.
