AN AMAZING YEAR AT COLLINGWOOD

Construction - June It has been a milestone year for Collingwood School in moving forward with the construction of our Senior School campus. The largest building project in our history has been supported by the School's most ambitious capital campaign. The Morven campus has seen significant change over the course of this year.  Each day we become more excited as we look to the very near future and the exciting new opportunities the new facility will yield for your children.

In addition to the new building construction, renovations to the Parents' Wing will begin this summer.  In September 2013, Parents' Wing renovations will be complete featuring state-of-the-art, purpose built facilities for Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Robotics.

For the new building, all the concrete will have been poured, and the steel frame of the building will be installed in preparation for the roof installation in October.

THE CAMPAIGN CONTINUES

We have already seen a tremendous amount of support for the campaign throughout the school year and we will be carrying our momentum through the summer and into next year.

For many families the summer offers a break from the hustle of school and extracurricular activities. Campaign volunteers and School representatives will be available during summer. We encourage families who have the time during the summer to take advantage of this less hectic time.  Please feel free to come in and meet with us.

Engaging every family at Collingwood is incredibly important and we are here to meet with parents no matter what the time of year. Face to face meetings offer a more personalized experience for each family to learn more about the campaign and the building project, and ultimately help to strengthen our community and support for this project.

SEPTEMBER 2013

Over the summer we will also be ramping up for September. New families join Collingwood every year and we want to give them the same opportunity to support the campaign all Collingwood families are offered.

September will also give us the chance to show our returning families the progress of the campaign and construction over the summer.

As this school year draws to a close, we want to thank all of our families for the support that the campaign has received.

A MESSAGE FROM BRIAN O'SULLIVAN

Brian O and boys Collingwood has given my sons Brendan (Class of 2011) and Berkley (Class of 2013) extraordinary opportunities to grow and thrive.  It has given them the opportunity to make lifelong friends and to become part of a community in which they will always be welcome.  I believe giving back is important so when the school asked me to support the campaign both with my time and with a gift, I was happy to do so.

Both my sons will be Collingwood alumni before the new building is complete but what is most important to me is that the school is able to offer future students the same opportunities it gave my children. I want to see Collingwood grow and improve and want to be a part of the legacy we leave for future generations of students just as my family benefitted from the legacy past Collingwood families left to us.

In coming together to support this project we are not only building a world-class school but setting an example for our children. We are building a stronger community and the school's reputation will continue to grow. This is something which will benefit both present and past Collingwood students.
