A Message from grade/class co-ordinators

November is here and we are happy that so many of you have attended the coffee mornings and parent socials. What a great way to re-connect with friends and meet the new families. We hope that everyone has settled into their new routines at both Morven and Wentworth.

Just a reminder to all families to please ensure that you have paid your class funds for this year. This is the money that is collected for each student by the class or grade representatives. This fund is essential to the fund raising and 'fun' raising activities that we do. If you have not made your contribution, please contact your class/grade representative at your earliest opportunity. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

The Scholastic Book Fair returns this year to the Wentworth Campus library. This is the School's biggest library fundraiser, benefiting both the Wentworth and Morven libraries. It is a wonderful opportunity to buy books from the teachers' wish lists or purchase gifts and books to add to your library at home. There are publications available for every reading level, including teens.

Scholastic Book Fair Hours

Wednesday, December 12th - 8am to 7:30pm
Thursday, December 13th - 8am to 7:30pm
Friday, December 14th - 8am to  2 pm

Back by popular demand:

Gift Certificates and 'Sneak Peek' Purchases

Take advantage of the 'pre-sales' events where you can purchase gift certificates to spend at the Book Fair and have a 'sneak peek' at this year's most popular reads. Presales will be held during parent/teacher interviews at both the Wentworth and Morven campuses. Gift certificates will be sold in any denomination and make great gifts for teachers. The gift certificates are also a great alternative to having your children carry cash to school to spend at the book fair.

Pre-sale Hours

Wentworth Lobby                                                        Morven Lobby

GRADE 5 LEGACY UPDATE

Cheers to Legacy volunteers!

Congratulations and many thank you's for all your help with the Legacy collection! October was a record month and the numbers are in: 9,421 containers were kept out of the landfill and Legacy raised $567.94. A special thank you to the following parent volunteers who assisted the children in October ~ Erin Holm, Pamela Smith, Kathy Waterman, Hugette Khumalo, Penny Barnett, Anita Lee, Catherine Shao and Stephane Belanger.

A great big round of applause to Mr. Allen and his grade 5 students who worked quite efficiently with super recycling speed. It's a pleasure working with such a great group of kids. Thank you again for your support and for volunteering your time. Keep bringing in those bottles and cans!
