Off and running . . .
Along with a busy September came plenty of support from Collingwood parent volunteers!
Thanks to all of those who gave their time at the Welcome Back BBQ, New Parents' Evenings, Legacy, UniShop, Greens & Jeans Golf and Party and Volunteer Coffee Morning.
I would also like to acknowledge the behind the scenes work by our Class and Grade Reps during the first few weeks as they organized coffee mornings and provided information and support to parents.
What a great start to the new school year! Should you have any questions about our upcoming Parents' Council events, services or activities, please don't hesitate to contact me at parents.council@collingwood.org.

Greens & Jeans proved once again that our Collingwood Community loves to have fun.
 | | Greens & Jeans Co-chairs Catharine Wright (left) and Sarah Connell with Rodger Wright |
Co-chairs Catharine Wright and Sarah Connell put on a wonderful event that was the perfect way to start of a new school year. On Friday, September 21st, parents, staff, faculty, alumni and friends gathered for a shotgun start at Gleneagles Golf Course. They were greeted by MC Jon Borrill and his playlist of great tunes and promise of sunny weather! Goody bags and mulligans were a-plenty at the registration table and the course offered hole-in-one contests and a snack time putting contest.
After a "strenuous" 9 holes golfers joined the party-goers at the clubhouse for appies, drinks and prizes. A buffet of burgers and salads was enjoyed by all along with the fabulous live band that played lots of fan favourites!
Thank you to all that sponsored, donated, volunteered and of course attended this awesome event. Until next year....

GRADE 5 LEGACY UPDATE
Congratulations and many thank you's for this month's award winning Legacy collection! The numbers are not in yet, but this has to be a record month. A special thank you to the following parent volunteers who assisted the children last month ~ Jenny Misceo, Meredith Collins, Maria-Novella Beltramo, Kirsten Morrison, Charlene Dalton, Christine Florakas, Shelley Philps, Ashwin Sood, Leslie Wong and Shannon Augustus.
But the real winners are the children from Ms. Jagore's class who worked diligently, quietly and without any qualms. The kids were amazing and worked like superstar recyclers and deserve a round of applause. Thank you again for your support and for volunteering your time. Keep bringing in those bottles and cans!

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR
Wednesday, December 12th - Friday, December 14th
From Wednesday, December 12th to Friday, December 14th, the Wentworth library shelves will once again be stocked with a vast selection of popular books and activities for sale. The Scholastic Book Fair offers parents and students the opportunity to support their school library by purchasing books for themselves, as gifts, or for their child's classroom. It's a hugely successful fundraiser that benefits both the Wentworth and Morven libraries.
Many volunteers are needed to ensure this wonderful event runs smoothly. If you would like to help out, click on the link below and sign up for a shift that fits your schedule.
